Abstract

324,130. Worrall, G. Oct. 25, 1928. Padlocks; lock mechanism, lever type.-The tailpiece of a padlock having a covered slot 3 to receive a staple is formed integral with its bolt 1 and is pivoted at its end remote from the bolt on a post 2. A key pin 9 passes through an aperture in the tail piece which is provided with a stud 6 to engage the latch levers 7. The lever pivot 8 limits the movement of the tail piece and prevents removal of the key until the bolt is shot. The cover of the slot 3 may be a projection formed on the top plate of the lock or may be formed by the top plate itself.
