Abstract

311,668. Vondran, A. Feb. 8, 1928. Disinfecting.-A method for destroying vermin and their brood, injurious germs, parasites and the like, carried out in two stages consists in first exposing the garments, domestic utensils, hides, foodstuffs, fodder or seeds containing the organisms to be destroyed, to a treatment with moist heat at approximately human blood temperature, and then subjecting the articles to the action of dry air, or other dry gas such as chlorine or sulphur dioxide or a gaseous mixture, at 80‹ C. until all the injurious organisms have been killed. A known process similar to that set forth above but involving also a preliminary treatment with dry air or gas at 80‹ C. is referred to.
