Abstract

311,428. Royer, G. F. May 12, 1928, [Convention date]. Continuous - discharge apparatus with moving container.- A machine for mixing sand with clay, loam, oils, flour paste, &c. for moulding consists of an inclined drum 1, rotated by a motor 20 through chain reducing gear 22, 26, 28, and an agitator, which may comprise teeth 42 carried by chains 40, rotated at a high speed by chain gear 36. The shaft 30 carrying the chains 40 is arranged towards the lower side of the drum so that the teeth almost strike it. A spring pressed scraper plate 80 removes adhering material from the drum, but will yield if the material is too firmly fixed. The sand &c. is fed by a band 70 and hopper 50 and removed by a band 60. The inclination is adjusted by a screw 8, nut 9 formed externally as a worm wheel, worm 10 and hand wheel 11.
