Abstract
311,281. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of McCormick, F. H.). May 8, 1928, [Convention date]. Electric radiators.-A casing 10 open to the air of the room encloses a plurality of heating elements 12 of the sheathed wire type, such as are described in Specification 144,767, [Class 37, Electricity, Measuring &c.], assembled by means of their flanged ends on a metal bracket 11 to form a flattened helix. A forwardly projecting grille 31 is arranged over the opening in the front of the casing. An internal structure comprising a back plate 17 and end plates 21 forms an air flue surrounding the elements on three sides. A plate 38 mounted on the grille prevents direct radiation from the elements. A plate 30 spaced from the casing 10 reduces radiation to the said casing. Air flowing through the apparatus in direct contact with the heating elements joins the air stream from the flue and re-enters the room through the openings at the top of the grille.
