Abstract

311,165. John, A. S. Sept. 4, 1928. S p r a y carburettors. - The charge is mixed by air admitted from the atmosphere to an enclosed space encircling the mixture chamber, whence it flows through tangential passages to said chamber within which is mounted a tube serving to divert the air longitudinally thereof. As shown in Fig. 7, a ring 16 provided with an annular groove 3, to which air is admitted at 6, is mounted around the carburettor body 13 which is provided with tangential passages 4 opening into an annular space 17 around the tube 7. The admission of air through the bore 6 may be controlled by a manually-operated valve which may be operated from a distance.
