319,536. Elkington, H. D., (Soc. Anon. S. E. C.). Nov. 10, 1928. Equalizing load on wheels and springs. - A resilient expansion device associated with the axles and adapted to be used in conjunction with the usual vehicle springs, acts both as a transverse balancing means when the vehicle tends to assume an undesirable transverse inclination. Adjustable connecting rods a are pivoted to each end of the axle A adjacent to the point of attachment of the elliptic or other spring expansion, and to arms b of bell-crank levers mounted on the frame T. The other arms c of the bell-crank levers are connected by rods d and a tension spring or equivalent device enclosed in the casing R. The bell-crank levers may be replaced by discs g, Fig. 4, which are held in frictioned contact with discs fixed to the frame.
