Balls.-In a cricket or like ball having a cover formed of approximately hemispherical cups, the edges of the cups are sinuous or undulatory and are stitched together circumferentially of the ball. The sinuous edges e of the two leather or other cups a, b forming the cover of a cricket ball are stitched together by three rows of circumferential stitches f, and are undercut to receive a welt i that may be either triangular or rectangular in cross-section.
