Abstract

303,961. Stott, O., and Matthews & Yates, Ltd. Nov. 10, 1927. Filtering.-Air is filtered by passing through a unit, Fig. 1, comprising two portions c united to central internal rings around which is an external rectangular frame f, preventing the air from passing over the outside of the unit and causing it to flow in through one-half of the unit c and out through the other half. The unit has a solid cover b at each end secured by bolts d to the central rings and removable for cleaning. The filtering portion c may consist of metal, wood, &c. between wire gauze or expanding metal and may be coated with oil. A number of such units may be secured by clamps on a large frame.
