Abstract
302,813. Johnson, A., and Mills, S. Jan. 6, 1928 Fixed sieves.-Screening apparatus comprises two screen memhers b hinged together at their adjacent edges and at their opposite edges hinged to a rigid main frames a, and means connected to the hinged connection d<3> between the screen parts so as to impart a vibrating motion thereto. In the construction shown, the connections of the screen parts to the frame consist of eye-bolts b<2> and the connections of the screen frames to each other consist of lugs d<1>, d<2>, Fig. 4, and a hinge pin d<3>. A rubber or other flexible apron d covers the gap between the screens and is clamped between the lugs d' and bracket members d<4> to which are secured adjustable links e" connected to one arm c'‹ of a rockshaft c<9> the other arm e<8> of which is actuated by an eccentric shaft c<2> rotating in a closed oil chamber e. Preferably cushioning springs g<2> are interposed between the screens b and the main frame. According to the first Provisional Specification the screen may comprise three or more sections jointed up by trunnions working in slotted plates or links.
