Abstract
302,809. Rosenvinge, H. E. Dec. 30, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Fastenings for hinged windows; hasp fastenings; hook fastenings.- A casement window 1 can be fastened by a member 4 attached thereto by a staple and with hook shaped handle and a hole in the shank adapted to engage a hook 3 secured to the casement 2. If the window does not close easily through damp &c. the window may be closed by a lever 6 having a bifurcated' end 7 engaging a pin 8 temporarily passed through the hole in the shank of member 4 and bearing against the casement at 10 as a fulcrum, the end 5 of the lever being pressed towards the wall. The lever and pin may then be removed and member 4 engaged with hook 3, or the lever and pin may be left in place and the window fastened by securing the end 5 of the lever with a screw passed through an aperture 11 or by a hook or other fastening. The pin 8 is preferably secured to the lever by chain 9 and a reinforcing plate with leather &c. to prevent damage to the casement is provided on the lever in the region: of the fulcrum 10.
