Bale-tie fasteners.-A prepared hoop iron and clasp comprises a clasp member 1 secured to one end of a hoop iron 4, the clasp member being adapted to receive the other end of the hoop iron for securing it when binding a case. The clasp member consists of a sheath formed by bending a metal strip in a direction transverse to that of the hoop iron, the edges of the sheath facing one another longitudinally of the hoop iron. One of the faces of the hoop iron is secured to an inner face of the sheath and a free space is left between the other face of the hoop iron and the other inner face of the sheath. The operation of securing the hoop iron to the sheath may be performed through an aperture 2 in the sheath or through the longitudinal space between the edges of the sheath. In modified forms of the sheath, the aperture 2 is disposed at one end thereof or is omitted altogether. Specification 302,570 is referred to.
