Abstract

300,850. Turcotte, L. J. March 7, 1928. Hinged - sliding windows. - The sashes 35, 36 are hinged to rabbeted weight-balanced stiles 23, 24 which are slidably retained in grooves on the frame by plates 13, 14, Fig. 5, projecting into longitudinal recesses in the stiles. At its free edges, the inside sash is engaged at the lower part of the frame by a hinged section 49 of the inside bead bevelled at 52 and secured when closed by a snap fastener, an aligning pin being provided in the frame for said bead. A section 40 of the parting bead is removably fixed by a pin or stud 41, Fig. 4, adapted to engage the sill, and a spring latch 44 adapted to engage a catch on the frame.
