Abstract
306,104. Hoffmann, F. Feb. 17, 1928, [Convention date]. Rollers and roller heads. - In drawing- mechanism for spinning-machines wherein a feed belt forms with the lower middle roller a curved drawing field the upper middle roller f, embraced by a belt k pressed by a guide member h, is displaced towards the feed rollers a, b by an amount x, so that its nip with the lower middle roller g is on the side remote from the drawing rollers c, d and it is heavily weighted so that the slip of the fibres takes place only in the drawing field beyond the nip. The drawing field extends on both sides of the central plane of the lower middle roller, and the distance between the nips of the middle and drawing rollers exceeds the length of the fibres. The roller f is formed as shown in Fig. 3 and is supported in a frame, which carries the members and is mounted in the guide-slots provided in the stands of the usual three pair roller heads, the pins u, Fig. 2, being offset to effect the desired displacement of the roller f. The frame is provided with saddles m to engage the reduced portions n of the roller f and is gapped at p to allow a pressure member to be applied to the central portion q.
