Abstract
293,176. Pansky, A. June 2, 1927. Fats, extracting. - Solvent in the form of vapour under reduced pressure is caused to pass upwards through the material to be extracted, the necessary degree of vacuum being maintained bv a condenser. The material is placed in a vessel 1 having a. perforated &c. false bottom 8, 9 and, after exhaustion of the apparatus by a pump 35, solvent preheated in a heater 16 is introduced into tubes 2 at the base of the vessel 1 and caused to boil by a suitable steam jacket, the vapours passing through the material and being condensed in a condenser 26. When the material has been sufficiently extracted the cock 15 is closed and the solution in the vessel 1, after further concentration, is run into a still 42 by first filling it with steam and then condensing with cold water. After further operations in the vessel 1 the accumulated solution in the still 42 is steam distilled. solvent and steam being condensed in the condenser 26. The condensed solvent is returned to a storage vessel 14 by a pump 38.
