Abstract

292,096. Standard Telephones & Cables, Ltd., (Assignees of Shea, T. E.). June 13, 1927, [Convention date]. Drawings to Specification. Loading circuits to improve transmission.- Loading units comprising inductance coils and condensers in parallel with one another are connected in each conductor of a line, the coils and condensers being so proportioned that the resultant impedance is substantially a constant resistance throughout the transmission range. If the line is terminated at the mid-point of such a unit, it may be associated with terminal apparatus without introducing reflection losses. The terminal sections only of a line may be loaded with such units, the intermediate section being loaded with Pupin coils in the usual manner. Specification 135/94 is referred to.
