Abstract
299,070. Jackson, L. Mellersh-, (Doble Steam Motors Corporation). April 20, 1927. Feedwater, supplying and controlling.-A feed regulator contains a valve 23 controlling the supply of additional water and operated in accordance with the steam temperature, and a valve 5 controlling the return of excess water and operated in accordance with the difference in pressure on the opposite sides of an aperture 15 through which the main feed supply flows on its way to the boiler. The valve 23 is opened by a solenoid 27 which is energized when a switch 31 is closed by the expansion of the outer member 36 of a thermostat in the boiler steam space. The size of the aperture 15 is adjusted by a needle valve 16, and the pressures on opposite sides of the valve act upon the opposite sides of a spring-loaded cup-shaped piston 6 forming an extension of the valve 5.
