Abstract
295,161. Turner, W. C. B., and Oswald, R. J. Nov. 22, 1927. Hollow handles; barb and like holding devices and wedge expanding devices for socket fixings. - A hollow metal axe handle is formed to the shape of the ordinary wooden handle from two complementary sections stamped and pressed to shape and welded together along the edges. The end portion of the handle 2 is left with a split at 3 to facilitate tightening it in the eye of the axe head 4, the projecting end of the handle being hammered over to form a shoulder. A wooden wedge 5 may be driven in to fill the end of the handle.
