Stud and slab walls. - Portable buildings of the kind formed of sheets of material clamped between post or rafter members, have the posts formed of two trough-shaped section bars a, one of which is reversed, clamped together along their edges x to the sheets d by bolts e passing between the edges of the sheets. In the form shown, the members are of semi-circular section. Walls. - A wall construction comprises complementary vertical units 1 assembled at both sides of an intermediate sheet or slab 3 formed of insulating or cementitious material. The units 1 may be made of oxychloride cement and wood shavings, ceramic, or cementitious material, and the inner faces are provided with a series of vertical depressions 2. The slabs 1 are arranged between columns 4, each comprising a pair of complemental members 6, providing a central opening 7, and held together by bolts 8. A projection 9 may be clamped between the column members 6 for engaging between a pair of slabs 3, or, if desired, the intermediate slab 2 may project so as to be clamped between the members 6.
