Abstract
287,102. Nowotny, J. March 15, 1927; [Convention date]. Catches, spring; fastenings for bags; latches, sliding and swinging; stud-and-bolt fastenings.-A catch for bags &c. in which an eve 12 or headed stud on one part is pressed into a slot 8 in the casing 1 on the other part and is there engaged by a sliding bolt 5 snapped into engagement by a spring 6, has the bolt capable of pivotal movement on a fixed guide pin 2 passing through a slot in the bolt, so that the bolt may be swung out of engagement with the eye 12 to release the catch by a sideways movement of the eye, the slot 8 being sufficiently long to allow such movement. The bolt is held in its normal position at one end of slot 8 by a pivoted plate 7 acted on by a spring 9, the plate also serving normally to cover a part of said slot, and yielding against the action of spring 9 during the releasing movement.
