Abstract
286,810. Warren, T. S. Dec. 22, 1926. Peeling fruit and vegetables.-A fruit and vegetable peeler of the type having a handle, a main body or knife carrier secrured thereto, and a knife, e.g. a safety razor blade, adjustably secured to the carrier by screws, is characterized by the blade B being held between the carrier A and a plate E by screws F, and by the carrier being provided, adjacent to the blade, with a rectangular opening H which leaves a narrow strip D adjacent to the cutting edge, the metal at the ends of the said strip being bent or cranked in such manner that the strip is disposed at the side of the blade opposite to the securing plate E, thereby forming a guide for the blade. The handle C is secured by screws or rivets to the carrier A which has a sharpened point and cutting edge at G.
