Abstract

272,300. Standard Telephones & Cables, Ltd., and Painton, P.R. March 12, 1926. Variable resistances.- A resistance element is mounted directly on a panel forming part of the casing &.c. of an electrical apparatus, which panel also supports a moving contact-element. The resistance 3 is wound on an insulating core 2 arranged round the edge of a recess in the panel 1, which recess also contains the contact element. This consists of a disc 5 mounted on a spindle 4 passing through the panel and carrying a contactspring 19. The spindle passes through a metal bridge 9 secured to the panel and a contact-spring 12 is provided. The disc carries graduations visible through a window in the panel.
