Pulp, preparation of.-A modification of the process of the parent Specification consists in treating the material, which may be moist fir wood, first with air containing oxides of nitrogen whereby nitric acid is formed in the material, and then for several hours with air alone. The process may be carried out at 40‹-45‹ C.
