Abstract
The present invention refers to a vehicle 1 comprising a security device, the security device comprising a first device 2, 3 for the sensing of a presence of a person or pet inside the vehicle if the ignition of the vehicle is turned off and a second device 5 for measuring the temperature inside the vehicle. The vehicle comprising an air condition device 6 switched on automatically by the security device if the ignition of the vehicle is turned off, the presence of a person or pet is detected and the temperature inside the car is below a first level or above a second level to prevent negative impact to the person or pet inside the vehicle. The person or pet may be detected by means of a weight or pressure sensor 3. The security device may also cause the vehicle doors to be unlocked and an optical/acoustic alarm to be triggered. A signal may also be sent to the owner/driver containing information such as pictures regarding the situation inside the vehicle.
Description
Vehicle comprising a security device The present invention refers to a vehicle comprising a security device. Known security devices comprise a first device for the sensing of a presence of a person or pet inside the vehicle if the ignition of the vehicle being turned off and a second device for measuring the temperature inside the vehicle. These devices partly protect children or pets being alone in a vehicle without a person inside the vehicle being able to protect them against possible very low or very high temperatures in the vehicle which could lead to serious problems for the children or pets including their death. Known security devices supervise the presence of a person or pet inside the vehicle and the temperature in the vehicle if the ignition is turned off. Then after the recognition of the presence of a very high or very low temperature in the car the known security devices start an alarm and/or unlock the doors of the vehicle so that the child or pet can be freed from the vehicle without destroying any window of the vehicle. Problematic is that external help is required and in some circumstances external help might not be available or possible external help might not be aware of the dangerous situation for the child or pet inside the vehicle so that easy possible help is not provided.
The present invention seeks to provide a better and secure help to avoid serious impact to children or pets being alone in a vehicle and the temperature inside the vehicle is in a range not healthy for the child or pet inside the vehicle.
This task is reached by a security device comprising a first device for the sensing of a presence of a person or pet inside the vehicle if the ignition of the vehicle being turned off and a second device for measuring the temperature inside the vehicle, the vehicle comprising an air condition device switched on automatically by the security device if the ignition of the vehicle is turned off, the presence of a person or pet is detected and the temperature inside the car is below a first level or above a second level to prevent negative impact to the child or pet inside the vehicle. Accordingly the child or pet is protected against unhealthy temperatures inside the vehicle as long as energy for the air condition is available inside the car. This energy might be in the form of fuel if the air condition is powered by a combustion engine or in the form of electrical energy if the air condition is powered by electrical current. As a result the presence of a dangerous situation for the child or pet can at least be prevented for some time.
If the first device for the sensing of a presence of a person or pet inside the vehicle comprises a weight sensor the detection of the presence of a child or pet can be improved. By combining the results of the weight or pressure sensor with the result of an optical sensor the result of the sensing of the presence of a child or pet can be further improved.
If the security device comprises a third device equipped to unlock locked doors of the vehicle if the temperature inside the car is below a third level or above a fourth level the security is further improved since external help is possible without destroying parts of the vehicle so that the willingness of external people to help might be better. The third level may be the same as the first level and the fourth level might be the same as the second level. If the third level is below the first level and the fourth level is over the second level the unlocking starts only after the air condition cannot work any longer or is at least too weak to provide healthy temperatures inside the vehicle. After all the unlocking is not provided unnecessarily and the child or pet is protected more against possible suspicious individuals in the vicinity of the vehicle. The third device can be a separate device or a part of the first or second device.
If the third device or a fourth device is equipped to start an alarm of the vehicle people in the vicinity of the vehicle can be attracted to help, especially if the doors are unlocked. The third or fourth device can be separate devices or a part of the first and / or second device. The alarm function can be further improved by a sound generator providing spoken instructions via loudspeakers like: "Please open the doors" or "Please free the child" One other acoustic alarm could be provided by the horn of the vehicle.
The alarm function can be further improved if the third, fourth or fifth device is equipped to start an optical alarm. This optical alarm might be provided by the direction indicators and/ or the headlights of the vehicle. The third, fourth or fifth device may be a separate device or a part of the first or second device. The optical alarm might be additionally or alternatively provided by a display visible outside of the vehicle and asking for help at all or special instructions like "open door" and/or "free kid" at the same time or by alternating displaying. The third, fourth or fifth device may be a separate device or a part of the first or second device.
If the vehicle comprises a transmission device for sending information regarding the situation inside the vehicle the owner and/or driver of the vehicle can be informed about the situation inside the vehicle and be animated to free the child and /or pet from their unhealthy situation. This transmission device may send spoken and /or written instructions and /or sound and/or pictures recorded inside the vehicle. Pictures recorded inside the vehicle might provide the best single information, but multiple different of the before mentioned information to be transmitted might improve the information, especially the information about the temperature inside the vehicle.
The first till the fifths devices may be respectively single devices, combined devices or part of a central vehicle computer.
The invention will now be described for a preferred security device with the help of Figure 1, but other devices according the claims may be used.
Figure 1 shows a vehicle with a preferred security device.
Vehicle 1 comprises a security device comprising a camera 2, a pressure sensor 3, a microphone 4, a temperature sensor 5, an air-condition 6, a transmission device 7, a display 71 and a loudspeaker 72. The temperature sensor 5 may be the second device for measuring the temperature. Furthermore as parts of the vehicle 1 are shown a front seat31, commonly called driver seat, a back seat 32, a kids seat 30 and side-windows 81, 82. The pressure sensor 3 is positioned under the kids seat 30 to supervise the total weight of the kids seat 30 inclusive a possible passenger sitting in the kids seat 30. The pressure sensor 3 is positioned on the rear-seat 32. The camera 2 supervises the inside of the vehicle1 and pictures delivered by the camera 2 are interpreted by one of a first till fifth device to detect the presence of a child or pet. The result of this interpretation may be checked against the information provided by the pressure sensor 3. If the ignition is turned off and the temperature determined by the temperature sensor 5 is below a first level or above a second level the air condition 6 is switched on automatically. The first level may be 12 Degrees Celsius and the second level may be 30 Degrees Celsius. If the power of the air condition 6 itself is too weak or the remaining energy for the function of the air condition 6 is too small people in the vicinity of the vehicle (1) might be attracted to free a child in the car by the display 71 and / or the loudspeaker 72, the display for example displaying the announcement: "Free Kid". The same or a similar announcement could be acoustically provided by the loudspeaker 72 in addition or alternatively. At the same time or preferably at the time when the air condition is switched on an information may be send via the transmission device 7 to the driver and/or owner of the vehicle so that the owner or driver of the vehicle is aware of the dangerous situation inside the vehicle and is motivated to free the kid or pet from this dangerous situation. The transmission device 7 may use one or more known techniques used for the communication between people like cellphones or the internet.
