Figure 3 shows a side view of the clothes peg holder 1 with four clothes pegs 16 I.5 clipped on to the third elongate peg receiving element 2c. Each clothes peg 16 is clipped to a different peg receiving section 14c. Conveniently, the clothes pegs 16 are readily accessible to a user, as each clothes peg 16 is separated from every other clothes peg 16 and the clothes pegs 16 are well aligned.
Figure 4 shows an end view of the clothes peg holder 1 with a clothes peg 16 clipped on to each of the first elongate peg receiving element 2a, the second elongate peg receiving element 2b, the third elongate peg receiving element 2c, the fourth elongate peg receiving element 2d and the fifth elongate peg receiving element 2e. As in Figure 3, it will be appreciated that the clothes pegs 16 are each individually accessible to a user.
The clothes pegs 16 are able to form a detachable connection with the any of the elongate peg receiving elements 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, The clothes pegs 16 each comprise two opposing jaw portions 18a, 18b operable to be moved away from and towards each other. The two opposing jaws 18a, 18b are biased towards each other by a spring 20.
The clothes pegs 16 each comprise two actuation portions 22a, 22b disposed at an opposing end of the clothes pegs 16 to the jaws 18a, 18b. The clothes pegs 16 each comprise a cut-out portion 24 disposed between the jaws 18a, 18b and the actuation portions 22a, 22b. The clothes pegs 16 arc each configured such that the two actuation portions 22a, 22b may be urged towards each other by a user which in turn urges the jaws 18a, 18b apart. By urging the jaws 18a, 18b apart a clothes peg 16 may be moved towards an elongate peg receiving element 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 20 such that the jaws 18a, 18b extend either side thereof in use, a clothes peg 16 may be urged by a user such that the jaws I8a, 18b extend around opposing sides of the elongate peg receiving element 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d until the cut-out 24 extends at least partially around the elongate peg receiving element. The user may urge the two actuation portions 22a, 22b of the clothes peg 16 towards each other, in order to open the jaws I8a, I 8b prior to urging the clothes peg 16 towards the elongate peg receiving portion 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2c. if the space between the jaws 18a, 18b is smaller than the width of the elongate peg receiving portion 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e as the clothes peg 16 contacts the elongate peg receiving portion 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, then the shape of the elongate peg receiving portion 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e may assist in opening the jaws sufficiently far for the jaws 18a, 18b to pass over the elongate peg receiving portion 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e. The elongate peg receiving portion 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e may have any suitable shape to assist in opening the jaws 18a, 18b. For instance, the elongate peg receiving portion 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e may have a curved and/or or tapered surface arranged to assist, in use in opening the jaws 18a, 18b of the clothes peg 16.
The elongate peg receiving clement 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e comprises a width, e.g. a diameter, suitable to be received by the cut-out 24 of a clothes peg 16.
in use, as the jaws lga, 18b of a clothes peg 16 extend over an elongate peg receiving element 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, the spring 20 will act to move the jaws I8a, 18b will towards each other, when the user releases any force applied to the two actuation portions 22a, 22b, if a given clothes peg 16 has not been centred with peg receiving section 14a, 14b, 14c, 14d, 14e by a user, then as the jaws 18a, 18b move closer to each other they may contact a divider 12 on one side peg receiving section 14a, 14b, 14c, 14d, 14e. As the jaws 18a, 18b contact the divider 12, inward tapering of the divider 12 will cause the jaws I8a, 18b to be urged towards the centre of the peg receiving section I4a, 14b, 14c, 14d, 14e. Each clothes peg 16 when connected to an elongate peg receiving element 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e may be centred in this way. As such, each clothes peg 16 when connected to the clothes peg holder 1 will be automatically centred towards the centre of the relevant peg receiving section 14a, 14b, I4c, 14d, 14e.
Where a plurality of clothes pegs 16 are connected to an elongate peg receiving element 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e such that the jaws I 8a, 18b of the clothes pegs 16 are disposed in adjacent peg receiving sections 14a, 14b, 14c, 14d, 14e by having the clothes pegs 16 centred within each peg receiving section 14a, 14b, 14c, 14d, 14e, a more equal spacing between adjacent clothes pegs 16 may be achieved. A more equal spacing between clothes pegs 16 may allow a user to more easily grasp an individual clothes peg 16 to remove it from the clothes peg holder 1.
One or more of the elongate peg receiving elements 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e may comprise a different number of peg receiving sections. For instance, one or more of the elongate peg receiving elements 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2c may comprise at least one peg receiving section, at least two peg receiving sections or at least five peg receiving sections. One or more of the elongate peg receiving elements 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e may comprise up to 10 peg receiving sections, up to 20 peg receiving sections or up to 50 peg receiving sections. In some embodiments, different elongate peg receiving elements 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e may comprise different numbers of peg receiving sections 14a, 14b, 14c, I4d, 14e from other elongate peg receiving elements 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, Figure 5 shows a portion of another example of a clothes peg holder E. Each similar feature from the clothes peg holder 1 shown in Figure 1-4 is labelled with like numerals with a prime (').
An elongate spine clement 10 is disposed radially inboard of an elongate peg receiving element 2'. Dividers 12' extend from the elongate peg receiving clement 2' to the elongate spine element 10' at regular intervals along a length of the elongate peg receiving element 2'. Each of a plurality of clothes pegs 16' may be connected to the elongate peg receiving element 2' and automatically centred towards the centre of the relevant peg receiving section 14' by the adjacent dividers 12'.
In addition to the dividers 12' there are provided secondary dividers 30' extending from the peg receiving element 2' in a direction away from the elongate spine clement 10'. A secondary divider 30' is disposed substantially opposite each divider 12'. In the illustrated example, the secondary dividers 30' are shorter than the dividers 12'.
The secondary dividers 30' are tapered inwards, to facilitate, in use, the location and alignment of the clothes peg(s) 16' clipped thereto, in this way, each of a plurality of clothes pegs 16' may be connected to the elongate peg receiving dement 2' and automatically centred towards the centre of the relevant peg receiving section 14' by adjacent secondary dividers 30'.
The secondary dividers 30' shown in Figure 5 may be applied to any one or more of the elongate peg receiving elements 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e shown in Figures 1-4.
in an example implementation, the clothes peg holder may be configured to resemble an animal, e.g. a hedgehog with the arrangement of the clothes pegs clipped to the clothes peg holder, in use, resembling the spines of the hedgehog.
In other implementations, the elongate peg receiving element(s) may be arranged 20 differently.
In implementations comprising a plurality of elongate peg receiving dements, the elongate peg receiving elements may not all be identical or substantially identical.
The clothes peg holder may comprise any number of elongate peg receiving elements.
