Latches, sliding; striking plates; stud-and-slot fastenings.-A fastening chiefly applicable to vehicle doors comprises a mushroom-headed stud resiliently mounted on the striking plate and entering a narrowing slot in the fore-end plate of the latch casing and secured therein by the latch. bolt. An outside operating handle may be provided with operating mechanism arranged to permit maximum width of a glass panel.
