Abstract

267,209. Halford, S. H. Dec. 8, 1925. Collision-guards. - A bumper-bar 5 for a vehicle is grooved or corrugated horizontally at 7, Fig. 2, and is supported by aligned sliding rods 8 which bear upon compression springs 13. A bumper bar may be provided at each end of the vehicle and opposed sliding rods on each side of the vehicle may bear against a common compression spring. The bumper bar 5, Fig. 4, may be hinged at 14 preferably by a spring hinge. The buffing means may be hydraulic or pneumatic.
