Abstract

A balcony for attachment to a building comprises a support framework having a height width and depth, a rear of the balcony for location adjacent the building and a front projects away from the building. The framework is adapted to secure to at least two beams extending from the building, the balcony comprising transverse joists with apertures to receive the beams, for each beam a front and a rear clamp and for each beam a series of standoffs positioned intermediate the front clamp and the rear clamp and fixed respective to one of the joists adjacent an aperture and extending downwardly. Each standoff has an engagement surface for bearing against the beam and each standoff being height adjustable to maintain a height between the joist and the beam for load transfer between them.
