Description

A method for providing a safety information of a motor vehicle for a safety person
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of automobiles. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for providing a safety information of a motor vehicle for a safety person according to the pending claim 1.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
[0002] In the state of the art it is already known that a safety person, for example a fire department, in order to rescue people from a crashed motor vehicle may get information about the motor vehicle. A time-consuming manual extraction or contacting the manufacturer is performed for getting this information. This is a time-consuming process and there is a lack of real-time data. In particular, for example with at least in part electrically operated motor vehicle or full electrically operated motor vehicle, the rescue person may not contact the motor vehicle due to potential risk of an electrical shock.
[0003] Therefore, there is a need in the art to provide methods for improving the response time and reducing risks for the responders.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] It is an object of the present invention to provide a method, by which a safety person can get a safety information, of a motor vehicle in a safe manner.
[0005] This object is solved by a method according to the independent claim. Advantageous embodiments are presented in the dependent claims.
[0006] One aspect of the invention relates to a method for providing a safety information of a motor vehicle for a safety person. A readable safety tag is provided at a predetermined position at the motor vehicle. The safety tag is captured by a capturing device of an end device of the safety person. The safety information is displayed on a display device of the end device.
[0007] Therefore, a method is provided, by which safety information can be queried in a safe manner for a safety person.
[0008] In particular, for example, the safety tag may be in form of a QR-code sticker, which is widely recognized and economically a way for obtaining information. A national fire protection association has a directory of QR information by the motor vehicle manufacturer. The QR sticker on the motor vehicle allows emergency responders to download rescue sheet technical information for example a distress of at least in part electrical motor vehicle. The rescue sheet safety information may help emergency responders to avoid electrical shock and chemical exposure. Furthermore, the QR code sticker may be inexpensive and easy to apply to the motor vehicle.
[0009] According to an embodiment, the safety tag is provided as a QR code.
[0010] In another embodiment the safety tag is provided as an RFID-tag. In particular the RFID-tag may be an alternative to the QR-codes. The RFID-tag tag may contain the same rescue sticker technical information without needing direct line of sight like the QRcode.
[0011] According to another embodiment the safety tag is provided with a protective layer removable by the safety person.
[0012] In another embodiment the safety tag is provided at a charging socket of the motor vehicle.
[0013] In another embodiment the safety tag is provided inside of a door of the motor vehicle. Other locations may be for example, but not limited near the vehicle's VIN plate or on the windshield.
[0014] Further advantages, features, and details of the invention derive from the following description of a preferred embodiment as well as from the drawing. The features and feature combinations previously mentioned in the description as well as the features and feature combinations mentioned in the following description of the figure and/or shown in the figure alone can be employed not only in the respectively indicated combination but also in any other combination or taken alone without leaving the scope of the invention.

[0016] The drawing show in: [0017] Fig. 1 a schematic side view according to a motor vehicle with a safety person performing the method according to an embodiment of the method.
[0018] In the figure the same elements or elements having the same function are indicated by the same reference signs.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0019] In the present document, the word "exemplary" is used herein to mean "serving as an example, instance, or illustration". Any embodiment or implementation of the present subject matter described herein as "exemplary" is not necessarily to be construed as preferred or advantageous over other embodiments.
[0020] While the disclosure is susceptible to various modifications and alternative forms, specific embodiments thereof have been shown by way of example in the drawing and will be described in detail below. It should be understood, however, that it is not intended to limit the disclosure to the particular forms disclosed, but on the contrary, the disclosure is to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives falling within the scope of the disclosure.
[0021] The terms "comprises", "comprising", or any other variations thereof, are intended to cover a non-exclusive inclusion so that a setup, device or method that comprises a list of components or steps does not include only those components or steps but may include other components or steps not expressly listed or inherent to such setup or device or method. In other words, one or more elements in a system or apparatus preceded by "comprises" or "comprise" does not or do not, without more constraints, preclude the existence of other elements or additional elements in the system or method.
[0022] In the following detailed description of the embodiment of the disclosure, reference is made to the accompanying drawing that forms part hereof, and in which is shown by way of illustration a specific embodiment in which the disclosure may be practiced. This embodiment is described in sufficient detail to enable those skilled in the art to practice the disclosure, and it is to be understood that other embodiments may be utilized and that changes may be made without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. The following description is, therefore, not to be taken in a limiting sense.
[0023] Fig. 1 shows a schematic side view according to an embodiment for the method. In particular, Fig. 1 shows a motor vehicle 10. The motor vehicle 10 is for example configured as an at least in part electrically operated motor vehicle or a fully electrically operated motor vehicle. Therefore, the motor vehicle 10 may comprise a charging socket 12 with a charging inlet 14.
[0024] Furthermore, Fig. 1 shows a safety person 16, for example from a fire station. The safety person 16 holds an end device 18 comprising at least a display device 20.
[0025] According to an embodiment of the method a readable safety tag 22, in particular shown as a QR-code, is provided at a predetermined position at the motor vehicle 10. The safety tag 22 is captured by a capturing device of the end device 18, for example from a camera or a scanner, of the safety person 16. A safety information 24 is shown/displayed on the display device 20 of the end device 18.
[0026] In particular, as shown in Fig. 1, the safety tag 22 may be configured as a QRcode. Alternatively or additionally, the safety tag 22 may be provided as a RFID-tag.
[0027] Furthermore, the safety tag 22 may be provided with a protective layer removable by the safety person 16.
[0028] Furthermore, the safety tag 22 may be provided inside of a door 24 of the motor vehicle 10.
[0029] The QR-code may be a sticker and subject to scratches, surface contamination, peeling, cracking, and ink deterioration. The application of a protective layer may maintain the QR-sticker intact. The protective layer material may be for example removed by the safety person 16 wearing heavily gloves. The QR-code is located on internal locations such as charging connector or inside the door 24. The access to the OR-code presumes no damage to these locations and requires physical contact with doorhandle and furthermore. Including the QR-code in visible location, for example near dashboard vehicle identification number or inside a window may increase opportunities for line sight reading, and avoid physical contact with potential hazardous damaged vehicles.
[0030] The RFID (radio frequency identification) tag may contain the same rescue sticker technical information without needing direct line of sight like the QR-code. The RFID tag is readable at close range without physical contact to the motor vehicle 10. The larger the RFID tag tend to have a longer reading distance. The RFID tag may be placed in locations close to the motor vehicle exterior. Reading could occur at longer ranges. The RFID tag readers are easily obtained at minimal cost and require minimal training. The RFID reader can be mounted to a pole, allowing for readings at a distance from the distressed motor vehicle 10. For example, similar placements may be provided. For example a pillar, a rear window, inside exterior mirrors, under license plate or furthermore allow for quick location of information.
[0031] The RFID tag can be placed in opposite positions to assure information even if one side of the motor vehicle 10 is totaled. The RFID tag has only rescue sheet loans, no personable identifiable information such as owner's name, vehicle registration address, or the car loan information. A large antenna extends readability distance if some portion of antenna is visible, most of the RFID tag can be hidden out of view. The RFID tag may be mounted inside pillars, under dashboards, or other exterior locations so long as some antenna is visible. The RFID tag is usually a passive component, so no battery power or vehicle wiring is required.
[0032] The tags can be replaced in the event of the motor vehicle configuration changes, such as upgrades or recalls. The safety tag 22 dual technology, in particular from the OR-code and RFID code, can be a part of marketing and dealership sales experience. The QR/RFID may gain endorsement from fire/rescue groups and insurance companies. The RFID is triggered by radio energy being transmitted in the air. The RFID tag should not be triggered by a routine vehicle electronic emission such as ECUs, GPS/navigation systems, WIFI/smartphones, garage door openers or furthermore.
