Abstract

253,829. Leenen, F. Feb. 16, 1926. Look-out reflectors.-An arrangement of mirrors on a vehicle for enabling the driver to view the road at the side and in front of the vehicle, without changing his position, e.g. in overtaking a second vehicle, comprises an image-receiving mirror 6 mounted on the side of the vehicle and a second viewing mirror 3 located in front of the driver's seat 4 and reflecting to the driver rays reflected from the first mirror 6. The mirror 6 is preferably a convex spherical mirror and the mirror 3 a plane mirror of smaller dimensions. For adjustment purposes the mirror 6 is hinged to a supporting arm 5 which in turn is hinged about an horizontal axis 9 to the side of the vehicle, a Bowden wire or other means being associated with the arm 5 so that the driver can swing it outwardly to an operative position or fold it against the side of the vehicle.
