Abstract
A toaster that has a flange 5 around two or more sides that will enable it be integrated into a work surface. The unit may also have a lid to cover it when not in use. The toaster may also have a removable plunger which may be used to raise and lower that bread tray.
Description
Title Integrated Toaster Background This present invention relates to toasters and more particularly to toasters that can be integrated into kitchen work surfaces. In the modern kitchen more and more electrical item are becoming integrated into the units and worktop to create a sleeker more stream lined look and maximise space. Even the traditional kettle looks set to disappear with the arrival of the boiling water tap, only the toaster remains sat on the worktop.
Statement of Invention
To overcome this, this invention provides a toaster having a mounting flange provided thereon by means of which, in use, the toaster may be suspended in an opening in a surface for integrating into that surface.
A toaster in accordance with the invention has the advantage that it may be flush mounted in a kitchen work surface for full integration into the kitchen.
Preferably at least two flanges are provided on opposing sides of the toaster, and in a particularly preferred embodiment, a flange is provided which extends around the entire perimeter of the toaster.
The flanges may include fastening means such as screw holes by means of which the toaster may be fastened to the underside of the surface, or it maybe a drop fit into the opening from the top.
Operating means for pressing the bread cradle down may be removeably mounted in the toaster so as to enable them easily to befitted into the toaster for use and then removed for storage, leaving a flush finish to the toaster within the surface.

surface. Description
The integrated toaster has an extended flange on two or more sides which when fitted into a suitable hole in a kitchen worktop will allow it to be suspended in the worktop with the main bulk of the appliance sitting bellow the worktop and within the kitchen unit bellow.
