Abstract

A motorcycle electronic side stand device comprising two tension wheels 1.3, 1.10 with attached cables, a motor 1.1, a motor control unit 1.13, a cable adjuster mounting bracket 1.7, a cable adjuster 1.8, and a motor gear spline 1.12. One wheel is fixed to the motor and the other is fixed to the pivoting point of the vehicle side stand. When an up or down button is pressed on the handlebars of the vehicle, the motor will rotate causing the cables to wind/unwind around the wheels as appropriate and therefore raise or lower the side stand.

Description

MOTORCYCLE ELECTROMC SIDE STAND DEVICE 1.
Many bike riders experience problems when raising.or lowering the side stand on their vehicle due to a number of thfferent factors These rnciude perconal disability such as an artittcial leg or nsutficient physical strength Oher contributors to cause issues can rnclude the sheer weight, size and rnanoeüvrability of the vehicle or even the physical height oftherider.
Spedfically designed to overcome the problem of making the vehicle perfectly stable for mounting and dismounting whilst tationary the Electronic Side Stand Device was developed to eliminate any issues that could cause difficulties to the rider.
The method of operation tot the device consists o two tension wheels with attached cables and a motor. One wheel is fixed to the motor and the other is fixed to the pivoting point of the vehicle side stand. When the up or down button is pressed on the handlebars of the vehicle the motor will rotate causing the cables to wind/unwind around the wheels as appropriate and therefore raise or lower the side stand electronicall depending on which button is depressed.
As a safety feature the Side Stand Device will not operate unless the ignition is turned off, thus preventing the standbeingmadvertentiy raised or lowered whilst the vehicle is in motion. A further safety precaution utilises limit switches which Will prevent motor failure in the event of the Side Stand Device trying to raise or lowe with an obstruction in its vicinity.
MOTORCYCLE ELECTRONIC SIDE STAND DEVICE
The invention wifl now be described by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows the complete Motorcycle Electronic Side Stand Device and its means of instaflation and operation.
