Abstract

Exercise grip rings comprising flexible rings (4) which support the flesh on the palm where the metacarpals (2) meet the proximal phalanges (1). During exercise activities which involve gripping a bar, for example pull-ups, kipping pull-ups, rowing, lifts, kettlebell swings or gymnastics, the exercise grip rings prevent the flesh rotating with the bar and folding against itself. The rings can be either individual, in pairs, as a set of four or integrated into the fingers of gloves.

Description

Grip Rings
Background
In ally sporting activity which involves gripping a bar, for example pull-ups. kipping pull-ups, rowing. lifts, kettlebell swings or gymnastics, hands are subjected to quite extreme evels of rotational forces and friction. This rotational force and friction can lead to calluses, blisters and eventually to tears in the flesh.
This is particularly likely where the metacarpals meet the proximal phalanges, where the rotation of the bar causes the flesh at the base of the fingers to bunch up and fold.
Statement of Invention
To overcome this, the present invention proposes that the area at the base of the fingers, where the flesh folds into, is occupied by flexible rings, supporting the flesh during rotational movement.
Advantages These flexible rings support the flesh, eliminating the tugging movement that can cause blisters and tears.
Introduction to Drawings
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 shows the area which is most susceptible to damage.
Figure 2 shows the bar hdd in a comfortable position, with no folding of the flesh on the palm where the metacarpals meet the proximal phalanges.
Figure 3 shows the bar having been rotated, tugging the flesh of the hand with it. Bunching and folding can be seen on the palm where the metacarpals meet the proximal phalanges.
Figure 4 shows a possible arrangement of one-piece rings.
Figure 5 shows where the rings position on the hand.
Figure 6 shows how the rings provide support by occupying the space where the flesh was previously compressed into.
Detailed Description
The flexible rings (4) act as support where the metacarpals (2) meet the proximal phalanges (1), preventing the flesh rotating with the bar and folding against itself (3).
These rings can be either individual, in pairs, as a set of four or integrated into the fingers of gloves.

Claims (4)

  1. Claims I The use of flexible rings to prevent stress on the hands during exercise involving grip, by occupying the space where the metacarpals meet the proximal phalanges to restrict tugging of the flesh.
  2. 2 A single item composed of a pair of rings according to claim 1. where the base of only two fingers are protected.
  3. 3 A single item composed of four rings according to claim i, where the base of all four fingers are protected.
  4. 4 Gloves with nngs integrated into the fingers where, according to claim 1, the base of all four fingers are protected.
