Abstract
A rotating & locking case 2 which incorporates a non-removable rotating gear 3. Various attachments (e.g. clip 4) can he fitted for different functions and locked into place by slide lock 5. The case supports a personal device and allows rotation from its connected adaptor. Angular rotation may be restricted by angular locking clip 6. The Case can be adapted for various uses at many positions while holding the case and device securely.
Description
Rotating and Locking Case for a personal device
Background
This invention relates to a holding case for a personal device which has various securely locked adaptors that can rotate once fitted and lock at different angles.
When operating a personal device, it is usual to support using 1 hand only for best flexibility on location. This can restrict use of the 1 hand for other operations and reduce your efficiency in completing tasks. If an existing case is used to support this device, the display would be positioned in one angle and viewpoint thus reducing its function or it will not be securely fixed with risk of becoming detached.
Statement of Invention
To overcome this, the present invention proposes a supporting case which incorporates a rotating gear. Various attachments will mate and lock securely with this gear for different functions. A locking mechanism will be provided between the gear and the attachment for rigid connection. Angular rotation will also be restricted by features built into the rotating gear and supporting case.
An attachment may provide rotation in other axis for further flexibility in location.
Advantages The Rotating and Locking case will securely support the personal device while giving flexibility in its fixed location.
Preferably, various attachments will be supplied for attachment to different locations and provide several functions.
Introduction to drawings
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: -Figure 1 shows a personal device supported by a case with a fixed clip, -Figure 2 shows a rotating and locking case according to the invention; and, -Figure 3 shows a rotating and locking case with various attachments according to the invention.
Detailed Description
In figure 1, a personal device 1 is encapsulated in a case 2, which incorporates a clip 3. This clip 3, is fixed to case 2 and remains in one orientation.
Figure 2 shows the rear of a personal device 1 encapsulated in a rotating and locking case 2. This rotating and locking case 2, incorporates a non-removable rotating gear 3 with an angular locking clip 6 and a slide lock 5. Clip attachment 4 can then slide into rotating gear 3 through a recess incorporated into locking case 2.
Rotation of rotating gear 3 and clip attachment 4 can be utilised for best orientation and improved functionality. Slide lock Swill apply a spring force onto clip attachment 4 which then positively mates to rotating gear 3 for secure fitting. An equal but opposite force will then need to be applied to slide lockS to allow clip attachment 4 to slide and be removed from rotating gear 3.
Angular locking clip 6 will mate with features incorporated into rotating and locking case 2 at various angles, to lock rotation at a chosen position. Additional rotation force will be required to disengage angular locking features and rotate clip attachment 4 and rotating gear 3.
Figure 3 shows the rear of a personal device 1 encapsulated in rotating and locking case 2, with examples of several attachments for varying functionality (not limited to but including): Armband 3 for fixing to arm when involved in sporting activities, pod 4 which can also incorporate rotation in other axis and can attach to various surfaces, ring 5 for securing to finger or tube section and clip 6 for attachment to clothing.
Claims (4)
- Claims 1. A rotating and locking case, supporting a personal device and allowing rotation from its connected adaptor which is securely attached.
- 2. A rotating and locking case according to claim 1, incorporating a locking feature to the connected adaptor to ensure secure attachment.
- 3. A rotating and locking case according to claim 1, incorporating a rotation lock so to secure device at a chosen angle without angular movement.
- 4. A rotating and locking case according to any of the preceding claims, in which several attachments can be connected for various functions.
