Plate apparatus. - Two or more pressed.out metal plates a are provided with projecting ribs or walls g, and assembled so that the projecting ribs on the plate lie between those on the other plats in order to provide a sinuous path for the heating or cooling medium. Plates b may be applied to give a flat external surface. The ribs may be formed from tongues of metal cut and bent out from the plates a. The edges of the plates may be welded to frame members of solid or of channel section.
