Abstract

A method of verifying repair of a component in a utility supply network, particularly a communication network. The method comprises receiving an indication that a repair of the component has been completed at a repair time, the component associated with a first region of the network. A measure of the number of user equipments (UEs) that have connected to the network in the first region within a measurement period is determined, the measurement period starting after the repair time. The measure of the number of UEs connected within the measurement period is compared to a first threshold, and it is determined whether repair of the component was successful based on the comparison of the measure of the number of UEs to the first threshold. Measuring the number of connected UEs could comprise determining the number of received network performance reports. The method can also compare the number of network usage events to a threshold, such as the number of voice calls, data calls or SMS messages. The thresholds could be based on an expected number of users for the location or time of day, week, etc.
