Abstract
A paint saving device designed to attach to a paint container 3, comprising of a retaining clip 1 and attached bar 2 against which a paint brush can be stroked to remove access paint.
Description
Clip-based Paint Saving Device This invention relates to a painting aid/paint saving device.
Traditional paint containers do not allow users to effectively wipe excess paint from a paint brush, if the paint container rim is used.
Excess paint on a paint brush leads to inefficient flow of paint whist painting, and hence excessive amounts of paint used/wasted.
Wiping excess paint against the rim of the paint container also creates a build-up of paint around the rim, which results in wasted paint. Excess paint around the paint container rim also results in resealing of the paint container becoming inefficient due to excess paint obstructing the lid seal channel.
Using a bar mounted to a clip capable of being attached to commercially available paint containers, the user can effectively wipe off all excess paint against the bar to allow efficient flow of paint and reduction of paint used/wasted.
The bar and clip of the device also acts as a brush holder whilst not in use, allowing excess paint to be retained within the paint container so as not to be wasted.
Figure 1 shows a retaining clip 1 and attached bar 2 against which a paint brush can be stroked to remove access paint.
Figure 2 shows clip 1 and bar 2 assembly pertinent to device attached to a paint container 3.
Claims (3)
- Claims 1. A paint saving device comprising a bar mounted to a clip capable of being attached to commercially available paint containers.
- 2. A paint saving device according to claim 1 where a bar can be used to wipe of excess paint from a paint brush.
- 3. A paint saving device according to claim 1 that retains a paint brush whilst not in use allowing paint to be retained with paint container.
