Boxes; glands and caps.-In a stuffing-box for a valve spindle the gland is replaced by an adaptor 21, the lower end of which is similar to and replaces the gland, while the upper end forms a second stuffing-box adapted to receive the gland 16 removed from the lower stuffing-box.
