Electrical Socket Marker Template
When a new or alteration to an electrical installation is required in a residential or commercial property .The exact positions and sizes of electrical sockets and switches need to be marked out accurately according to legal requirements. The process is time consuming and laborious.
To overcome this, the present invention proposes a template made form Perspex 130 cm high by 60 cm Wide that has predefined cut out rectangles that can be stencilled marked against a wall to show the location and size of where a socket or switch should be located within the legal requirements .The electrical engineer can then cut through the marked area in plaster board or brickwork to fit the electrical back box or to use the template directly to the wall and cut through predefined rectangles. A spirit level can be attached to ensure the proposed socket is perfectly aligned. Socket types and floor levels are clearly labelled on the Perspex sheet.
The advantages to this invention is, that the time required to mark and size and the proposed positions of the sockets are drastically reduced .Errors made in positioning sockets and switches are eliminated. The electrical installation is standardised throughout.
An example of the invention will be now described referring to the accompanying drawing Figure 1.
A Perspex or similar sheet measuring 130 Cm height by 60 Cm width between 5ml and 1cm in thickness, as seen in figure 1, 1 .Rectangle shapes are cut out that are sized to allow the overlay or stencilling of standard single and double lights sockets 2 .The height of the cut out shapes on the Perspex sheet defines the legal allowable height from floor level 5. Mid level sockets are measured using cut out 3. Plug Sockets single and double are stencilled or overlaid by using cut outs shown as

An alternative example will now be described referring to the accompanying drawing Figure 2.

Claims
1. A Perspex or similar sheet material that measures 130 Cm height by 60 Cm width between 5ml and 1cm in thickness .
2. A Perspex sheet as in claim 1 with predefined rectangles cut out.
3. As per claim 2 rectangle cut outs are measured to allow the correct positioning of electrical sockets and switches.
4. As per claim 3 the cut out positions are measured to be within electrical legal requirements.
5. All rectangle cut outs and floor levels are marked to indicate type of electrical fitting.
