Abstract

254,024. British. United Shoe Machinery Co., Ltd., Gouldbourn, J., and Headley, A. E. March 28, 1925. Boot-sole sewing-machines, welting and turnshoe presser-feet; presser-bars with periodic control. - A presser-foot for a machine having a straight hooked needle co-operating with a threaded looper located in a work-supporting horn, is positioned so that it acts on the work behind the needle and behind the raised lip of a sewing channel on the work. The presser-foot 22 extends mainly to that side of the needle 19 to which the work is advancing and co-operates with a feed point 24 and a channel-guide 1. The under surface of the presser-foot is inclined downwardly towards the rear and the foot is of breadth sufficient to cover the length of the feed stroke. The presser-foot support 12 is connected to the presser bar 21 by members including a screwed pin and slot connection 17, 18. The channel-guide 1 is mounted on a shank 2 resiliently mounted in a guideway. Specifications 200,180 and 228,489 are referred to.
