Abstract

The Blade Box is a device that extends the life of a detachable razor blade in all types of wet shaving systems. This is achieved by a unique design that simultaneously vents and drains the Blade Box every time the user places the razor blade inside the Blade Box and closes the hinged lid. A blade box for receiving a detachable razor blade, said box having a lid, drainage channels and elastic strips for sealing the drainage channels, the lid being arranged to be engageable with a housing of the blade when the later is placed in the box such that as the lid is closed it pushes the blade housing against the elastic strips to urge them into positions sealing the channels.

Description

<p>BLADE BOX</p>
<p>This invention relates to all types of razor blade shaving systems.</p>
<p>Razor blade shaving systems suffer from the disadvantage that the detachable shaving razor blade requires frequent replacement.</p>
<p>An object of this invention is to extend the life of shaving razor blades.</p>
<p>Accordingly this invention provides a blade box for receiving a detachable razor blade, said box having a lid, drainage channels and elastic strips for sealing the drainage channels, the lid being arranged to be engageable with a housing of the blade when the later is placed in the box such that as the lid is closed it pushes the blade housing against the elastic strips to urge them into positions sealing the channels.</p>
<p>A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanied drawing.</p>
<p>Figures 1 and 2, show a typical Blade Box as an integral part of the holder or as an integral part of the dispenser respectively.</p>
<p>The blade box is a device that can be manufactured as an integral part with the shaving razor receptacle or holder. It can also be manufactured as an integral part of the razor blade dispenser. It may also be manufactured as a separate unit from either or both holder or dispenser.</p>
<p>The Blade Box has a hinge type self sealing lid as illustrated in Figure 3. The lid is designed to interface with the removable razor blade housing to apply and maintain a sealing force.</p>
<p>The Blade Box also has a special design feature that allows venting and drainage of the Blade Box and also provides an atmospheric seal. This feature is illustrated in Figure 4. The seal consists of a pre-formed arc strip of elastic material that provides a seal over the drainage channels as shown in figure 4. This allows the removal of the entrapped air and any residue liquid before providing an effective barrier to the surrounding atmosphere.</p>
<p>The pre-formed arc strip of elastic material is at both ends of the Blade Box contacting the detachable razor blade end housing.</p>
<p>The Blade Box has a drainage channel at both ends.</p>
<p>The Blade Box drainage channel is sealed by the pre-formed arc drainage seal.</p>

  1. <p>CLAIMS</p>
    <p>1, A blade box for receiving a detachable razor blade, said box having a lid, drainage channels and elastic strips for sealing the drainage channels, the lid being arranged to be engageable with a housing of the blade when the later is placed in the box such that as the lid is closed it pushes the blade housing against the elastic strips to urge them into positions sealing the channels.</p>
    <p>2, A Blade Box as claimed in claim 1, which expels air and liquid and isolates the contained razor blade from the surrounding atmosphere.</p>
    <p>3, A Blade Box as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 which provides a hinged lid seal to expel and to prevent the entrance of the surrounding atmosphere.</p>
    <p>4, A Blade Box as claimed in claim 1, 2 or 3 which has drainage seal guides.</p>
    <p>5, A Blade Box as claimed in claim 1, 2, 3 or 4 which is an integral part of a razor blade holder or an integral part of a razor blade dispenser or a separate unit.</p>
    <p>6, A Blade Box as defined in any of claims 1 to 5 above and outlined in the accompanying drawing.</p>
