Member 50 pivots with a U shaped connector 55 engaging a television monitor. Alternatively (Figure 9), the post mounted tube (110) has two plates (112, 114), one having a toothed plate (115) inside. The collar (120) has a portion (121) that pivots between plates (112, 114) and a second toothed surface matching the toothed plate; Figure 13 - which also shows multiple support devices connected together - shows the variation of the monitor support angle. Support tube 10 may have holes to receive positioning bolts 14, 131, as well as fastening sleeve 11; a bolt may include operation handle 13. Bolts 61 threaded through extension rod or arm 60 may engage grooves and ridges 331, 332 of the pivot member bars 33, 41; a decoration plate 64 may hide the bolts. Tube 10 may have multiple collar apertures (82 - 84, Figure 6), allowing connection of plural monitors to make a 'TV wall' - see Figure 7.

Description

MONITOR SUPPORT DEVICE

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a monitor support device which allows the monitor to be pivoted in horizontal directions and can be supported in vertical directions.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In a modem office, computers are used for the members in the office and each member is equipped with at least one monitor which is connected with a computer so as to form a office network. Each monitor is connected to the desk by a support device which generally includes a base with a post connected thereon and the monitor is pivotably connected to the post. The monitor can be adjusted in horizontal directions to meet the user's needs. However, an inherent shortcoming for the conventional monitor support device is that the monitor is so heavy so that the support device cannot vell hold it in the direction directions and the monitor tends to pivot downward due to its weight.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a monitor support device that includes a tube for being connected to a post and two plates extend radially from the tube. One of the two plates has a positioning plate connected to an inside thereof and the positioning plate has a first toothed surface. At least one collar has an insertion extending therefrom which is pivotably connected between the two plates. The insertion has a second toothed surface which is matched with the first toothed surface. A first pivot member is pivotably connected to a first passage of the at least one collar and has a first bar extending radially therefrom. An extension rod has a first end connected with the first bar and a second end of the extension rod is connected with a second pivot member which is pivotably connected with a third pivot member. The third pivot member is pivotably connected with a U-shaped connection member which is connected with a monitor.

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a monitor support device which can support the monitor in vertical directions.

The present invention intends to provide a monitor support device that can be extended to connect with multiple support devices to form a monitor wall.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
