Abstract

A golf driving range complex 1 comprises a central target 2 having at least one hole 3 raised above ground level. The target is preferably in the form of a brick chimney standing 90-100ft (27.43-30.48m) tall. The driving range complex has means to analyse each shot so that an information processing device 6 can provide feedback to a plurality of tee-off facilities 7. The information processing device 6 collates data retrieved from a number of sources including sensors located at each hole 3, ball information system 4, and radars 5 or video cameras that tracks the flight, impact and roll of the ball. A video system that measures club head speed, distance travelled and launch angles is also provided. Preferably the complex has an automatic ball recovery system. Preferably the target includes a short range radio transmitter that is able to identify different golf balls.

TITLE

GOLF DRWING RANGE COMPLEX

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A golf driving range complex is not a new idea, the novelty of the present invention is that instead of a flag pole that identifies the position of a hole in the ground, the central targeting point will have the hole in the air.

It will be an explosive game unique and addictive the chance of a great shot entertains competition with closest to the pin and longest drive contests

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

A golf driving range complex with a specific target preferably a central targeting point that can be aimed at and adjustable, conventional targets tend to be un-interesting and dull lacking the challenge and excitement of a proper round of golf, most driving ranges provide targets making it difficult if not impossible for an individual golfer to asses their performance from a practise session, concentration on the range is not what it is on the golf course, therefore there is a need to make a golf driving range complex that is more interesting and challenging to all golfers.

The central targeting point will focus all golfmg practise towards it space for golf is decreasing a golf facility with a novel approach creates a new way too enjoy the game using less land.

Other targets will offer variable physical tests according too abilities.

The central targcting point will be vertical, preferably one hundred feet high, preferably brick construction, preferably it will advertise itself, it will have sensored holes and chimney like, preferably rounded.

This central targeting point will rapidly improve and enhance the golfers practise sessions.

Accordingly the unique ball information system will correlate data with the great shot analysis to provide golfers with an evaluation of performance based on the golfers swing as well as the end result.

Within the boundaries of the golf driving range complex statistical records with unique ball information system will be suitably configured with great shot analysis that will measure club head speed,, distance, target line deviations and launch angle.

Further a need exists for an improved golf driving range complex that does not require the need for external lighting at night and this invention facilitates and enhances the opportunities for practise any time of the day or night.

Club selection, feed back on driving distance, average driving distance for each club, preferably radar signals will be used to cover a large section of space using high frequencies, this system will be configured and relayed to the golfer at the tee off facility preferably this tee off facility will be all weather.

Radar signals will be configured to measure ball flight, point of impact and subsequent roll, these will be relayed to an information processing device.

Preferably, video golf systems will use an elevated camera located behind the tee follows the flight of the ball down the range, instantly replaying the shot on a monitor using video.

E-marketing tools will cater to customers needs using e-coupons e-newsletters and session results upon demand.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
