Abstract

243,076. McCarthy, M. Aug. 23, 1924. Mattresses.-In a mattress of the kind wherein vertical helical springs are arranged in rows between upper and lower surfaces composed of cords or wires drawn together or crossed to form a diamond or other pattern, the upper surface is formed by cables b twisted around the sides of the springs and drawn together to produce the diamond pattern. The outer springs have also a cable e connecting them to the side members and passing freely through eyelets or the like thereon. The lower surface is formed by longitudinal and transverse pairs of cables twisted round the springs, and is supported intermediately of the ends by a transverse bar or bars l. Specifications 951/02 and 210,587 are referred to.
