A ladder mounting assembly (10) comprising a pair of jaws (39, 41) with at least one of the jaws (39, 41) selectively movable towards or away from the other so as to selectively engage against an object or fixture to secure the assem+y (10) and hence ladder (54) thereto. The assembly (10) is operate by remote control means (30).
