Abstract

The present invention discloses an automobile escape hammer comprising a body 10, a striking hammer 20 and optionally a cutter 30; wherein the striking hammer 20 is coupled to one end of the body 10 and comprises a weight member (21, fig.2) a striking pin 22 and a blade 23 installed on the weight member (21, fig.2); the striking pin 22 has a pointed tip 223 for effectively breaking the windows of a motor vehicle; and the blade 23 abuts one side of the striking pin 22 without passing beyond the end of the striking pin 22, thereby a user can hold the automobile escape hammer to strike and break the window of a motor vehicle as to achieve the purpose of breaking the window and allowing the people in the vehicle to escape quickly. A scrape section 233 may be provided for scraping away broken glass.

1 Automobile Escape Hammer
2 BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
3 Field of the Invention
4 The present invention relates to an automobile escape hammer, more particularly to an automobile escape hammer for breaking the windows of a 6 motor vehicle and allowing the people in the motor vehicle to escape quickly.
8 Description of the Related Art
9 Please refer to FIG. 4 for the U.S. Pat. No. 6,769,633 entitled "Automobile escape hammer gun", which disclosed a general automobile escape hammer 11 comprising a body 10, a metal head 61 and a blade 62. The metal head 61 has 12 a tip 611 for striking the windows of a motor vehicle, but the diameter of the 13 metal head 61 is large which makes the thermal manufacturing more difficult 14 and the cost higher. Since the surface area of the metal head 61 is large, therefore it is usually unable to break the windows effectively, which constitutes 16 a major drawback of the automobile escape hammer gun.
17 In view of the foregoing drawback, the inventor of the present invention 1 8 designed an automobile escape hammer gun in accordance with another 19 invention as shown in FIG 1, and such automobile escape hammer gun comprises a body 10, a striking device 11. 1 2, 13 and a press rod device 14.
21 The striking pin 11 has a small diameter and the tip 111 of the striking pin 11 22 has a small surface area, and thus it can effectively break the windows of a 23 motor vehicle by a strike to facilitate people in the vehicle to escape.
24 Although such automobile escape hammer gun can solve the technical issue of the prior-art structure requiring the escape hammer to be aligned and 26 placed flatly onto the window and the press rod device to he pressed to strike 27 the striking pin into the window. The press rod device is released before performing the next strike. Such complicated procedure cannot meet the 2 urgent need for quickly breaking the windows. The body I is comprised of 3 two half' casings, such that the overall strength of the automobile escape 4 hammer gun is not strong enough and too many components are used, which will make the manufacturing and production costs very high and impractical.
6 Such arrangement demands immediate attention and further improvements.
8 Summary of the Invention
9 In view of the foregoing shortcomings of the prior aFt, the automobile escape hammer in accordance with the present invention solves the technical 11 issues of the prior art that requires aligning the escape hammer flatly onto the 12 window for breaking the windows, press the press rod device to strike the 13 windows and release the press rod device before performing the next strike.
14 Such complicated procedure cannot meet the urgent need of quickly breaking the windows. The body I is comprised of two half casings, such that the 16 overall strength of the automobile escape hammer gun is not strong enough and 17 too many components are used, which will make the manufacturing and 18 production costs very high and impractical, and thus demands further 19 improvements.
Therefore, it is the primary objective of the present invention to provide an 21 automobile escape hammer comprising a body, a striking hammer and a cutter, 22 wherein the striking hammer is coupled to one end of the body and comprises a 23 weight member, a striking pin and a blade installed on the weight member; the 24 striking pin has a small diameter for effectively breaking the windows of a motor vehicle; and the blade abuts one side of the striking pin without passing 26 beyond the end of the striking pin, thereby a user can hold the automobile 27 escape hammer to strike and break the windows of a motor vehicle as to achieve 28 the purpose of breaking the windows and allowing the people in the vehicle to 1 escape quickly.

16 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS 17 Please refer to FIG 1 for an automobile escape hammer I according to the 18 present invention. The automobile escape hammer I comprises: a body 10, a 19 striking hammer 20 and a cutter 30. The body 10 has a handle 11 for allowing a user to grip the automobile escape hammer 1. The striking hammer 20 is 21 coupled to one end of the body 10, and the cutter 30 is coupled to an end of the 22 handle 11 of the body 10. Therefore, in an emergency situation, the striking 23 hammer 20 of the body 10 is used to strike an automobile window and break the 24 glass or release the buckle of a seat belt by using the cutter 30 to cut the seat belt for a quick escape.
26 Please refer to FIGS. 2 and 3 for the structures of the striking hammer 20 27 and the cutter 30 of the present invention. The striking hammer 20 comprises 28 a weight member 21, two striking pins 22 and a blade 23. The weight member 29 20 is substantially in a cylindrical shape and made of a solid metal material.
1 The weight member 21 comprises an accommodating groove 211 individually 2 disposed on the surface on both ends. The striking pin 22 is disposed into the 3 accommodating groove 211 of the weight member 21, and the striking pin 22 is 4 substantially in a cylindrical shape and made of a solid metal material, and the striking pin 22 is usually hardened by a thermal treatment to provide an 6 excellent strength. The striking pin 22 has a tip 221 and in inclined section 7 222 at one end. The tip 221 mainly provides the function of breaking 8 automobile windows, and the inclined section 222 maintains the necessary 9 strength required by the tip 221, and provides users the function of pressing and breaking the windows. The blade 23 is designed in a style with a geometric 11 shape and has an opening 231. The blade 23 is coupled to the weight member 12 21 by means of the opening 231 and disposed on the side proximate to the 13 striking pin 22. A blade section 232 is disposed individually on both ends. A 14 scrape section 233 is protruded from one side. The blade section 232 abuts one side of the striking pin 22 without passing beyond the tip 221 of the striking 16 pin 22. The blade section 232 is mainly used for piecing the plastic film or 17 thermal insulating paper on the glass of an automobile window, and the scrape 18 section 233 is used for scraping away the broken glasses around the automobile 19 window.
The cutter 30 includes a hook section 3 1. a block section 32 and a blade 21 section 33 disposed at an end of the block section 32. The hook section 31 is 22 used for coupling and fixing the body 10 as shown in FIG. 4. The block 23 section 32 is provided for sliding a seat belt into the blade section 33 for 24 performing a cutting action.
Please refer to FIG 4. The striking hammer 20 and the cutter 30 are 26 placed into the mold 40 and coupled to both ends of the body 10, and the body 27 is made of a plastic material, and forms a handle 11. The handle 11 is 28 provided for users to grip. The striking hammer 20 is coupled to one end of 29 the body 10 and only the striking pin 22 and the blade section 232 and the scrape section 233 of the blade 23 are exposed. Only the block section 32 and 2 the blade section 33 are exposed from the cutler 30. Since the hook section 31 3 is coupled to the end of the handle 11 of the main body, therefore the cutter 30 4 has good stability.
Please refer to FIG. 5 for the aulomobile escape hammer being used 6 according to the present invention. In the situations of a car accident or an 7 emergency, people are usually trapped in the motor vehicle because the door of 8 the motor vehicle cannot be opened, and then the people in the vehicle can lift 9 the automobile escape hammer I to hammer at the automobile window as shown in FIG 6. After the striking pin pierces into the glass of the automobile 11 window, the window will not be broken immediately because the surface of the 12 glass has a coat of plastic film or a layer of thermal insulating paper. By then, 13 the blade section 232 of the blade 23 cuts the plastic film and the user can shake 14 the body 10 such that the blade section 232 cuts the plastic film to break the glass of the window into pieces. Finally, the scrape section 233 is used to 16 scrape away the broken glasses around the automobile window for a quick 17 escape. In some cases, the seat bell is jammed or damaged and cannot be 18 released. Then, the cutter 30 is provided for cutting the seat belt by extending 19 the extended block section 32 of the seat belt for a quick escape.
Please refer to FIG. 7 for the automobile escape hammer according to a 21 second preferred embodiment of the present invention. Basically, this 22 embodiment is the same as the foregoing embodiment except the striking 23 hammer 20 has the striking pin 22 and the blade section 232 on one side of the 24 striking hammer 20 only. Please refer to FIG 8 for the automobile escape hammer according to a third preferred embodiment of the present invention.
26 This embodiment is basically the same as the foregoing embodiment except the 27 blade 23 of the striking hammer 20 comprises a blade section designed in 28 different styles or models.
29 Please refer to FIG. 9 for a fourth preferred embodiment of the present 1 invention. Unlike the aforementioned preferred embodiments, the striking 2 hammer 20 according to this embodiment exists independently and is coupled 3 inside the main body 10. The main body is cylindrical in shape. The striking 4 hammer 20 comprises a weight member 2 I. and the striking hammer 20 has a striking pin 22 and a blade 23 on one end of the weight member 21. The 6 striking pin 22 is protruded from the body 10, and the blade 23 abuts one side of 7 the striking pin 22 without going beyond the end section of the striking pin 22 8 for breaking the automobile windows. In FIG. 10, a user may hold the external 9 periphery of the body 10 to break an automobile window for a quick escape during a car accident or an emergency situation. The striking hammer 20 11 according to this embodiment is convenient to carry, and users can put it in an 12 obvious place in a car without occupying too much space, and the striking 13 hammer 20 is convenient to use as well.
14 Please refer to FiGS. 11 and 12 for the fifth embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment further comprises a piercing device 50 disposed 16 on a side of the striking hammer 20 of the body 10 and provided for users to 17 pierce an inflated airbag and shorten the precious time for the escape in an 18 emergency.
19 The body 10 comprises a transversal guiding groove 1 2 disposed on a side of the body 10 for installing the piercing device. The guiding groove 12 21 defines a sliding groove 13 on both ends, and a positioning groove 14 is 22 disposed on both sides of the guiding groove 1 2. The piercing device 50 23 comprises an insert pin 5 1, a poking member 52, two springs 53 and a casing 54.
24 The insert pin 51 is movably disposed in the guiding groove 12, 13. The poking member 52 is coupled to the middle section of the insert pin 51, and the 26 two springs 53 are sheathed from both ends of the insert pin 51 and disposed 27 inside the guiding groove 12. The two springs 53 can maintain the poking 28 member 52 of the insert pin 51 in the central position of the guiding groove 12.
29 The casing 54 has a hook section 55 disposed on bolh sides of the casing 54 as shown in FIG 13 and coupled inside the positioning groove 14. The casing 54 2 has a limit groove 56 for allowing the poking member 52 to pass through so that 3 the sliding movement of the poking member 52 is limited by the limit groove 56.
4 In this embodiment, the poking member 52 has a poking section 57 exposed from the limit groove 56 of the casing 54.
6 Please refer to FiG 14 and 15 for the movement of an embodiment of this 7 invention. When the escape hammer I is not in use, the poking member 52 is 8 pushed by the springs 53 on both sides. such thai the poking member 52 is 9 maintained constantly at the central position of the limit groove 56, and both ends of the insert pin 51 are located in the sliding groove 13 without being 11 exposed from both ends of the striking hammer 20. If it is necessary to operate 12 the poking member 52 to push the insert pin 51 from either end, then the insert 13 pin 51 will directly pierce the airhag.
14 While the invention has been described by way of examples and in terms of preferred embodiments, it is to he understood that the invention is not limited 16 thereto. To the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and 17 similar arrangements and procedures, and the scope of the appended claims 18 therefore should be accorded the broadesi interpretation so as to encompass all 19 such modifications and similar arrangements and procedures.
In summation of the above description, the present invention herein 21 enhances the performance than the conventional sfructure and further complies 22 with the patent application requirements and is submitted to the Patent and 23 Trademark Office for review and granting of the commensurate patent rights.

Claims (20)

1 WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
2 1. An automobile escape hammer, comprising:
3 a
body (10), including a first end, a second end and a handle (11) disposed
4 between said first and second ends for providing a grip to users; a striking hammer (20), being coupled to said first end of said body (10) and 6 including a weight member (21), a striking pin (22) disposed on said weight 7 member (21) and a blade (23) installed onto said weight member (21), and 8 said striking pin (22) having a tip (221) for breaking an automobile window, 9 and one end of said blade (23) abutting a blade section (232) of said striking pin (22) for piercing a plastic mold, and said blade section (232) not passing 11 beyond said tip (221) of said striking pin (22); and 12 a cutter (30), being coupled to said second end of said body (10) for cutting a 13 seat belt;
14 thereby, said automobile escape hammer is provided for breaking said automobile window directly and achieving a quick escape function.
16 2. The automobile escape hammer of claim 1, wherein said cutter (30) 17 comprises a hammer section (31) being coupled in said body (10).
18 3. The automobile escape hammer of claim 1, wherein said cutter (30) further 19 comprises a block section (32) and a blade section (33) disposed at an end of said block section (32), and said block section (32) is provided for sliding a 21 seat belt into said blade section (33) for performing a cutting action.
22 4. The automobile escape hammer of claim 1. wherein said weight member (21) 23 comprises an accommodating groove (211) on an end surface of said weight 24 member (21) for installing said striking pin (22).
5. The automobile escape hammer of claim 1, wherein said striking pin (22) 26 forms an inclined section (222) at position proximate to said tip (221) , and said inclined section (222) provides sufficient strength for said tip (221) to 2 have the function of pressing and breaking said automobile windows.
3 6. The automobile escape hammer of claim 5, wherein said striking pin (22) is 4 hardened by a thermal treatment and has the function of pressing and breaking said automobile window.
6 7. The automobile escape hammer of claim 1, wherein said blade (23) 7 comprises an opening (231) fbr coupling the periphery of said weight 8 member (21).
9 8. The automobile escape hammer of claim 7, wherein said blade (23) comprises a scrape section (233) protruded from on side for allowing a user 11 to scrape away broken glasses around the periphery of said automobile 12 window.
13 9. The automobile escape hammer of claim I, wherein said weight member (21) 14 comprises a striking pin (22), each being disposed on both sides of said weight member (21).
16 10. The automobile escape hammer of claim 9, wherein said blade (23) has a 17 blade section (232) on both sides 18 11. The automobile escape hammer of claims I or 10, wherein said blade (23) is 19 a blade designed in a model with different various styles.
12. The automobile escape hammer of claim I. wherein said body (10) is formed 21 by mold formation and coupled to said striking hammer (20) and said cutter 22 (30).
23 13. An automobile escape hammer, comprising: 24 a body (10), being in a cylindrical shape; a striking hammer (20), being coupled inside said body and including a I weight member (21), and 2 a striking pin (22) disposed on said weight member (21) and a blade (23) 3 installed onto said weight member (2 1). and said striking pin (22) having a 4 tip (221) protruded from said body (10) for breaking an automobile window, and one end of said blade (23) abutting a blade section (232) of said striking 6 pin (22) for piercing a plastic mold, and said blade section (232) not passing 7 beyond said tip of said striking pin (22); 8 thereby, said automobile escape hammer is provided for breaking said 9 automobile window directly and achieving a quick escape function.
14. The automobile escape hammer of claim I 3. wherein said weight member 11 (21) comprises an accommodating groove (211) on one end surface for 12 installing said striking pin (22).
13 15. The automobile escape hammer of claim 1 3, wherein said striking pin (22) 14 forms an inclined section at a position proximate to said tip (221) and said inclined section (222) provides a good strength to said tip (221) and is 16 capable of pressing and breaking said automobile window.
17 16. The automobile escape hammer of claim 15. wherein said striking pin (22) is 18 hardened by a thermal treatment and has a good strength.
19 17.The automobile escape hammer of claim 13. wherein said blade (23) comprises an opening (231) for coupling with the periphery of said weight 21 member (21).
22 18. The automobile escape hammer of claim 1, wherein said main body (10) 23 comprises a piercing device (50) on a lateral side for piercing said airbag.
24 19. The automobile escape hammer of claim 18, wherein said piercing device (50) comprises an insert pin (51) and a guiding groove (12) disposed on one 26 side of said main body (10), and said insert pin (51) is movably disposed in said guiding groove (12).
2 20. The automobile escape hammer of claim 19, wherein said main body (10) 3 comprises a sliding groove (13), each being disposed on both sides of said 4 guiding groove (12) for receiving both ends of said insert in (51).
21.The automobile escape hammer of claim 19, wherein said piercing device 6 (50) comprises a poking member (52) being coupled to the middle section of 7 said insert pin (51) and two springs (53) being installed respectively on both 8 sides of said insert pin (5 1).
9 22. The automobile escape hammer of claim 21, wherein said piercing device (50) further comprises a casing (54), a positioning groove (14), each being 11 disposed on both sides of said guiding groove (12), and said casing (54) 12 comprises a hook section 55), each being disposed on both sides for 13 coupling said two positioning grooves (14).
14 23. The automobile escape hammer of claim 22, wherein said casing comprises (54) a limit groove (56) for passing said poking member (52) through to 16 produce a limited sliding movement.
Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows
1. An automobile escape hammer, comprising: a body (10), including a first end, a second end and a handle (11) disposed between said first and second ends for providing a grip to users; a striking hammer (20), being coupled to said first end of said body (10) and including a weight member (21), a striking pin (22) disposed on said weight member (21) and a blade (23) installed onto said weight member (21), said striking pin (22) having a tip (221) for breaking an automobile window, one end of said striking pin (22) abutting a blade section (232) of said blade (23) for piercing a plastic mold, said blade section (232) not passing beyond said tip (221) of said striking pin (22), said blade (23) comprising an opening (231) for coupling the periphery of the weight member (21); and a cutter (30) being coupled to said second end of said body (10) for cutting a seat belt.
2. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 1, wherein said cutter (30) comprises a hook section (31) being coupled in said body (10).
3. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 1, wherein said cutter (30) further comprises a block section (32) and a blade section (33) disposed at an end of said block section (32), said block section (32) provided for sliding a seat belt into said blade section (33) for performing a cutting action.
4. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 1, wherein said weight member (21) comprises an accommodating groove (211) on an end surface of said weight member (21) for installing said striking pin (22).

The automobile escape hammer of Claim 1. wherein said striking pin (22) forms an inclined section (222) at a position proximate to said tip (221) , and said inclined section (222) provides sufficient strength for said tip (221) to have the funoticn Df pressing snd breaking id automobile windows 6. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 5, wherein said striking pin (22) is hardened by a thermal treatment.
7. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 6, wherein said blade (23) comprises a scrape section (233) protruding from one side, allowing a user to scrape away broken glasses around the periphery of said automobile window.
8. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 1, wherein said weight member (21) comprises a striking pin (22), disposed on both sides of said weight member (21).
9. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 8, wherein said blade (23) has a blade section (232) on both sides.
10. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 1, wherein said body (10) is formed by mold formation and coupled to said striking hammer (20) and said cutter (30).
11. An automobile escape hammer, comprising: a body (10), being in a cylindrical shape; a striking hammer (20), being coupled inside said body and including a weight member (21), and a striking pin (22) disposed on said weight member (21) and a blade (23) installed onto said weight member (21), said striking pin (22) having a tip (221) protruded from said body (10) for breaking an automobile window, and one end of said striking pin (22) abutting a blade section (232) of said blade (23) for piercing a plastic mold, said blade section (232) not passing beyond said tip of said striking pin (22). said blade (23) comprising an opening (231) for coupling the periphery of the weight member (21).
12. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 11, wherein said weight member (21) comprises an accommodating groove (211) on one end surface for installing said siking pin (22).
13. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 11, wherein said striking pin (22) forms an inclined section (222) at a position proximate to said tip (221) and said inclined section (222) provides a good strength to said tip (221) and is capable of pressing and breaking said automobile window.
14. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 13, wherein said striking pin (22) is hardened by a thermal treatment.
15. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 1, wherein said main body (10) comprises a piercing device (50) on a lateral side for piercing an airbag.
16. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 15, wherein said piercing device (50) comprises an insert pin (51) and a guiding groove (12) disposed on one side of said main body (10), and said insert pin (51) is movably disposed in said guiding groove (12).
17. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 16, wherein said main body (10) comprises sliding grooves (13), disposed on both sides of said guiding groove (12) for receiving both ends of said insert pin (51).
18. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 16, wherein said piercing device (50) comprises a poking member (52) being coupled to the middle section of said insert pin (51) and two springs (53) being installed respectively on both sides of said insert pin (51).
19. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 1 8, wherein said piercing device (50) further comprises a casing (54), a positioning groove (14), each being disposed on both sides of said guiding groove (12), and said casing (54) comprises a hook section (55) each being disposed on both sides for coupling said two positioning grooves (14).
20. The automobile escape hammer of Claim 19, wherein said casing (54) comprises a limit groove (56) for passing said poking member (52) through to produce a limited sliding movement.
