Abstract

A panel is clad in artificial foliage or grass to resemble a hedge. The panels may be used as a fence, screen or combined together to form a structure such as an arbour, pergola or the like.

Description

Page 1 Hedgefence.
Technical field. This invention relates to structures which are clad with artificial grass or leaves to give the appearance of fences, screens or panels which create the appearance of a hedge.
Background. In smaller gardens patios, roof terraces and open areas where space is at a premium, growing hedges can occupy too much room.
Cladding or partially cladding a structure with artificial grass or leaves gives the appearance of a hedge with considerable economy of space.
It also provides a long-lasting structure which requires virtually no maintenance. In addition the structure is ideal for roof terraces, balconies etc where wieght is a problem.
The Hedgefence can also be a practical solution for pavement restau rants and other temporary installations such as events, where fre quent arrangement and removal are necessary. Dy integrating tables, the hedgefence can be used to create eating areas.
The hedge clad panels can be used as where a picket fence might normally be sited to create a division of one space from another. They can also be used in the construction of other garden structures such as pergolas, gazebos or car-ports.
The Hedgefence can also be incorporated into decking structures or balconies ir' place of ballustrading.
Essential technical The essence of the invention resides in the construction of structures features which are clad with artificial grass or leaves.
The structures consist of frameworks in wood, plastic or metal, incorporating sheets of wood, metal or plastic to form substrates, to which sheets of artificial grass or leaves can then be attached.
Page 2.
Example A typical embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of an example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a typical fence hedge with fence effect on both sides and stretching over the top.
Figure shows a typical fence hedge with fence effect on one side with a partial hedge and fence effect on the reverse side.
Figure 3 shows a taller version of the hedge effect and the fence and hedge combination Figure 4 shows the hedge effect where a top rail has been added to give a framed effect.
Figure 5 shows a hedge screen with a table joined to it in order to create an eating area.
