Abstract
A resistant swimming float 1 is angled to give four resistances ranging from low, medium, high and maximum, based on orientation of the float in use. Subtle indentations on the float 1 indicate the correct way to position the hands 2. The form allows the swimmer to increase their strength and technique building upon leg, shoulder and stomach muscles.

RESISTANT SWIMMING FLOAT
This invention relates to a resistant swimming float for swimmers.
When people are swimming, they often use aids in the water to vary their technique.
However, the existing swimming float doesn't help the swimmer build fitness, it is just an aid to keep the swimmer afloat whilst they tread water.
I decided to turn this idea on its head and instead of aiding the swimmer through the water I would make the float resistant, thus making the swimmer work harder and therefore help the swimmers build muscles and gain strength.
The unique form of the float is its main feature. The shape has 4 key resistances to ultimately give the best results.
The invention will now be described by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: FIGURE 1 shows the position for the lowest resistance.
FIGURE 2 shows the position for the medium resistance.
FIGURE 3 shows the position for the high resistance.
FIGURE 4 shows the position for the maximum resistance.
FIGURE 5 shows the resistant swimming float in perspective view.
In FIGURE 1, the resistant swimming float 1 is in the correct position in the water 3 and is pushed through in a forward direction by the swimmers hands 2 which are placed at either side to give the first resistance this one being the lowest.
The material of the float 1 has firm foam like feel and is buoyant in the water. It could be made from either EVA or PVA and could be produced through injection moulding.
FIGURE 2, uses the same resistant swimming float 1 and has been spun 180 from left to right or vice versa, and is now in the correct position in the water 3. The float 1 is pushed through in a forward direction by the swimmers hands 2 which are placed at either side to give the second resistance this one being the medium.
FIGURE 3, uses the same resistant swimming float 1 and has been spun back 180 from left to right or vice versa and flipped upside down, and is now in the correct position in the water 3. The float 1 is pushed through in a forward direction by the swimmers hands 2 which are placed on top and curl around the front, their arms lie at full stretch across the back.
This gives the third resistance this one being high.
FIGURE 4, uses the same resistant swimming float 1 and has been spun 180 from left to right or vice versa, and is now in the correct position in the water 3. The float 1 is pushed through in a forward direction by the swimmers hands 2 which are placed on top and curl around the front, their arms lie at full stretch across the back. This gives the fourth and final resistance this one being the maximum.
In FIGURE 5, the same resistant swimming float 1 is shown in perspective view.
Claims (4)
