Abstract

A specimen funnel that can be inserted into a bottle enables a urine sample to be collected hygienically. The funnel is preferably disposable and made from a wax paper that doesn't absorb liquid but is quite firm. A funnel blank has a straight slot B on one side and a half moon shaped flap A cut into the other such that the funnel can be formed by rolling the blank and inserting the half moon shape in to the slot. The top and bottom of the funnel are ideally curved.

Description

Specimen Funnel 2402354 The invention is a funnel for specimen bottles.
When you are asked for a specimen and are giving one of the narrow specimen bottles, it is incredibly difficult and very unhygienic trying to get the urine sample into the bottle. It tends to go over your hands and not much in the bottle.
This invention would slot into the bottle enabling the urine sample to go in the bottle hygienically. It is disposable.
The funnel should be made from a wax paper that doesn't absorb liquid and is quite firm.
Figure 1 shows the funnel flat as it would come.
A & B slot into each other when item rolled.
The funnel has a straight slot on one side and on the other, a half moon shaped flap, and one slips into the other. The top and the bottom of the funnel are curved. When rolled and put together it should easily slip into the top of a specimen bottle.
Therefore it would allow someone to get a sample in the bottle without any problem.
You can then dispose of the funnel afterwards.
