Abstract

A portable sponge bed comprising six sponge cushions that may be held together in a bed formation when in use, and may be held together in a cube or a box shape when the bed is not in use. Hook-and-loop type fastenings are used to hold the cushions together in either state. The invention is characterised in that the cube or box shape provides storage space for a sleeping bag or duvet. The cushions have a nylon covering so that they may be wiped clean. The bed may be provided with a separate bag to facilitate storage and transportation.

Description
This invention relates to a bed, its portable and includes a duvet, pillow and storage bag.
Beds are an important part of people's lives, also an item that once assembled can be quite difficult to arrange depending on the size or shape of the surrounding area.
When moving residency at times it can be awkward, hard and heavy to move the bed out of the area as well as expensive if help is needed. Injury is also at risk.
The objective of this invention is to save space, allow easy mobility, quick and easy assembly and dismantle, allow easy care with wipe-able nylon covers may be used for travelling and can be educational, depending on the design. The invention also stores bedding and can be used for storing suitable items. The bed comes complete with a separate bag for storage and transportation.
When the bed is not in use, the six square cushions are assembled together to give a cube' or square box appearance. To form the base of the bed, the top of the box is pulled off and two sides are pushed down, the two remaining sides are pulled off, leaving a row of three cushions and the bedding. The bedding consists of a duvet and pillow. Attaching the two remaining sides that have been pulled offwill lengthen the base of the bed.
The bed is made of sponge covered in nylon fabric, main fabric and Velcro. 'I'he materials may differ depending on the size and theme of the bed. The duvet or sleeping bag is made of wadding and covered in poly cotton fabric. The wadding and fabric will differ in weight, size and materials.

As shown in figure 1, the sponge cushion is part of the base. l has been sewn at the top and sides, 4 on the inside bottom of cushion. l will be in use as the bed is folded into a box shape.
As shown in figure 3 the sponge cushion is a part of the base, l sewn at top and sides, 2 sewn inside bottom of cushion. l will be in use as the bed is folded in box shape. 3 and 4 secure other cushions to this cushion, for increasing the length of the bed.

When used as bed 3 will be secured to 4. When assembled as a box figure 2, 3 will be secured to 5.
Figure 4 shows l sewn along the top, 2 sewn inside of sponge cushion. This is at both sides and at the bottom ol the cushion.
Figure 5 has l sewn along the top, 2 sewn inside of the sponge cushion. 1 his is at both sides and at the bottom of the cushion.
Figure 6 is the top or 'lid' of the box. On the inside of the lid 2 is sewn along all four sides.
Figure 7 in the middle part 2 is sewn at both sides, 6 is sewn in the bottom corners and 7 is sewn in along the middle bottom. \
Figure 8 in the middle part 1 is sewn at both sides, 8 is sewn in the bottom corners and 9 is sewn along the middle bottom.
Figure 9 one pillow, the materials can vary depending on the design.
Figure 10 the opening is secured with 1 and 2, and has two loop handles sewn nearest to the top on either side. The material of the bag can vary, depending on the design.

Figure 13 displays the velcro bed in use. The base is figure 1, figure 2, figure 3 and figure 6. Figures 7, 8 and 9 displays the bedding. Figures 4 and 5 may be added to lengthen the base of the bed

Claims (2)

  1. Claims 1. A velcro sponge bed consists of six sponge cushions lined with
    nylon material to protect from any accidental soiling and a pillow, duvet or sleeping bag, the main cushion covers are made from various types of material, there are various sizes of Velcro strips sewn on the cushions to hold all sides of the cushions together forming a cube or box shape when the bed is not in use, this then provides storage space for the sleeping bag or duvet, when the bed is in use the Velcro strips then secures bed together.
  2. 2. A sponge bed as claimed in claim 1 when provided with a storage bag provides protection whereby the bag additionally facilities transportation and storage of the bed when not in use.
    2. A velcro sponge bed as claimed in claim I comes complete with a storage bag which provides protection and allows easy transportation and easy storage when the bed is not in use.

A sponge bed comprising of six sponge cushions, a pillow and a duvet or sleeping bag, whereby the cushions have a nylon covering and additionally comprise of a hook and loop type fastening such that the cushions may be held together in a bed formation when in use, and may be held together in a cube or a box shape when the bed is not use, characterised in that the cube or box shape provides storage space for the sleeping bag or duvet.
