Abstract

A reusable, wedge-shaped sandwich/food container has the shape of a diagonally cut sandwich. The container may include a clip-on cover which keeps the container air tight. The clip-on cover (d) may have a concealed cutlery compartment. The container's shape accommodates diagonally shaped sliced sandwiches and also shop bought sealed sandwich packs. The container may in use prevent conventional shop-bought packaged sandwiches from being squashed. The cover (d) may include hinged clips (c) with which it can be secured to the container body (a). The container may be made from BPA free material.

Snackwedge

A portable reusable sandwich/food container, having a concealed cutlery compartment. Background of the Invention

The invention relates to a portable, handy, reusable sandwich/food container, having the appearance of diagonal cut sandwiches. The main compartment will hold snacks or sandwiches, and will hold shop bought sealed sandwich packs. The cover features cutlery storage and grippable hinges, which secure the container when closed. The design is functional and simple: It encourages various lunch options, it discourages waste as the container is reusable. It is simple to use and easy to clean, it encourages users to reuse the container, and it discourages the need for wasteful wrapping of sandwiches. Colour matching choices of the cutlery compartment and clippable side hinges allow the user to customize their Snackwedge container.

The Snackwedge makes it easy to contain and transport sandwiches and snacks.

A unique feature of the Snackwedge container is that it will hold a shop bought sandwich pack, due to the diagonal shape. There is currently no pre-existing sandwich container that offers this unique option.

When shop bought diagonally sliced sandwiches are purchased, the sandwiches pack is either hand held or placed in a confined space, such as a bag, sports bag, glove compartment, coat pocket, etc. This usually results in the sandwiches and the packaging becoming squashed. Conventional sandwich packaging is usually quite flimsy, and is made from non- rigid materials. Furthermore, conventional sandwich packs from food outlets are not reusable and are soon discarded once the sandwich is consumed. To overcome this problem, the invention is reusable and is made from highly durable (BPA free) material.

The Snackwedge is very handy and portable: it will prevent sandwiches being squashed. The Snackwedge container also has a cover, which locks the lid into place for a watertight seal, this protecting the contents. The cover includes a cutlery compartment. No conventional reusable food container is uniquely shaped to snugly accommodate diagonally sliced sandwiches.

The Snackwedge container is reusable and is useful for transporting packed lunch sandwiches or snacks and, will also hold diagonal shaped sandwich packs available from food outlets.

The Snackwedge is a unique reusable snack/sandwich container - Its shape will naturally accommodate diagonal cut sandwiches. The clippable cover secures the container and prevents its contents from being squashed; the cover offers a concealed compartment specifically designed for cutlery.

Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the Snackwedge, a reusable food container, having the appearance of a wedge shaped container and showing the cover, which holds a concealed cutlery compartment.

Figure 2 shows the side view of the Snackwedge, a reusable food container in an open configuration, shown without the cover.

Figure 3 shows the top elevation of the cover of the Snackwedge, a reusable food container, also displaying the concealed cutlery compartment and the clippable hinges, which clip into place to secure the cover onto the main food container. Making it air tight.

Figure 4 shows the reverse side of the cover to the food container in Figure 3

In Figure 1, the Snackwedge food container (a) is shown in the closed position, and also shows the cover (b) and the clippable hinges (c) which are on either side of the cover. The side hinges clip onto the main body of the food container. The food container cover includes a concealed compartment (d), which is used to store cutlery.

In Figure 2, the side view of the Snackwedge food container (a), is shown without the cover. The outer rim (e) is also shown.

In Figure 3, the top elevation view of the Snackiwedge container cover (b) is shown with the clippable side hinges(c), and the concealed cutlery compartment (d).

In Figure 4. The reverse side of the Snackwedge container cover is shown here. The inner rubber rim (f) ensures the container is airtight when the cover (b) is secured into place by the clippable hinges (c) on each side.

1. A Snackwedge - a sandwich/food container, will hold diagonal sliced sandwiches, including sealed shop bought sandwich pack purchased from food outlets.

2. A Snackwedge - a reusable sandwich/food container, according to claim 1. Is reusable, portable, Handy, and made from durable plastic material.

3. A Snackwedge, a reusable sandwich/food container according to Claim 1. is a unique container as no other receptacle pre-exists, that has been specifically designed to contain diagonally sliced sandwiches or a sealed shop bought sandwich pack.

4. A Snackwedge, a reusable sandwich/food container according to Claim l.is shaped to naturally accommodate diagonal cut sandwiches .

5. A Snackwedge, a reusable sandwich/food container according to claim 1. has a cover which has a concealed compartment, specifically designed for storing cutlery.
